Alumni Update: Margarita Marroquin-Guzman

Margarita Marroquin-Guzman joined the Seed Growth Technology Center at Bayer Crop Science in Chesterfield, MO, as a Plant Pathology Scientist in June 2020. Margarita developed her expertise in Plant Pathology, working on international agricultural research projects with a wide variety of pathogens and hosts. Her research background includes classical diagnostic and detection methods, cutting-edge molecular techniques to dissect microbe-host interactions, and microbiome characterization using next-generation sequencing and bioinformatic tools. Before joining Bayer Crop Science, she was a postdoctoral research associate at Sydney Everhart's lab at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she also earned her Ph.D. in 2017 under the direction of Richard A. Wilson.
