Department History
The Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln has a rich history spanning more than a century. In 2020, to celebrate the Department's centennial anniversary, Dr. Robert Harveson published a book covering the last century of plant pathology in Nebraska. The book is divided into sections that focus on the Department of Plant Pathology in Lincoln, the Panhandle Research and Extension Center in Scottsbluff, and the stories of specific diseases of major Nebraska crops including sugar beets, dry edible beans, corn, wheat, and alfalfa. Copies of the book may be picked up in the Plant Pathology main office on UNL's East Campus or they may be purchased online and shipped directly to your home.
