Dr. Tiwari’s area of research spans across multiple disciplines, including plant-microbe interactions, plant-mycorrhizal-bacterial interactions, plant pathology, nematology, endophytic microbiome, plant nutrition, microbial remediation of chromium stress, biotransformation, biopesticides, phytomolecules for antiaging potentials, defense signaling, medicinal plants, and commercial low-cost technology for the farmers to minimize the losses and improve yield attributes.
His postdoctoral journey started at IISER-Kolkata & CSIR-NBRI, India, where he worked on managing wheat spot-blotch disease. He received a grant to investigate the application of microbial consortium in managing heavy metal contamination in soils. At Volcani Center, ARO, and Ben-Gurion University of Negev, Israel, he studied how plants absorb phosphorus from Saharan dust, tackling climate and environmental issues. At the Institute of Plant Sciences, Volcani Center, Israel, he later researched the potential use of cannabinoids in cancer therapy. Dr. Tiwari's postdoctoral research funding has been secured through the successful defense of 3 independent grants as the Principal Investigator. In addition, he has continuously engaged in teaching and training both graduate and undergraduate students. His current work with Dr. Richard Wilson focuses on understanding the genetic and biochemical networks that drive the molecular interactions between phytopathogenic fungi and their host plants.
