Dr. Bob Harveson is an Extension Plant Pathologist at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center in Scottsbluff, NE. His current appointment involves 50% research and 50% extension, with statewide programming responsibility for specialty crop diseases. His research program focuses on the etiology and applied management of root rot diseases of sugar beets, bacterial diseases of dry beans, and sunflower diseases utilizing the integration of biological, cultural, chemical, and predictive methods. He has conducted additional projects involving several new pulse crops (chickpeas, cowpeas, dry yellow peas, mungbeans, and lintels) as well as potatoes, corn, chicory, and wheat.
