Dr. Sydney Everhart awarded the APS Schroth Faces of the Future Award in Epidemiology and gave an invited presentation at the Schroth Symposium at the APS national meeting. Everhart joined the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as an Assistant Professor in August 2014. She is studying the emergence and evolution of fungicide resistance within plant pathogen populations. Utilizing population genetics and genomics, the goal of her research is to characterize factors driving the emergence of resistant strains, with emphasis on Sclerotinia sclerotiorum as a model system.
